Built for Anglers.
Designed for the ocean.
45+ verified fishing spots across all 7 Emirates, from the mangrove-lined creeks of Abu Dhabi to the deep-water drop-offs of Fujairah. UAE Anglers Hub documents 99 species — including hamour (Epinephelus coioides), kingfish (Scomberomorus commerson), and queenfish (Scomberoides commersonnianus) — across the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman coastlines. We combine local angler knowledge with structured, georeferenced catch records to fill a long-standing data gap in UAE marine science.

The Data Gap
UAE marine science has researchers.
It needs the data.
Thousands of anglers fish UAE waters every week — but until now, none of their catch data has been systematically collected. UAE Anglers Hub bridges that gap: turning recreational fishing into structured, georeferenced marine biodiversity records.
Why this matters for UAE waters
The UAE sits at the transition between the warm, shallow Persian Gulf and the deeper, more oxygenated Gulf of Oman. This creates two distinct fisheries — each with its own seasonal peaks, breeding closures, and pressure points. Yet published research on recreational catch composition, size distributions, and local abundance trends remains scarce. By recording what anglers catch, where, and when, we generate year-round signals that help track range shifts, identify spawning hotspots, and support national conservation measures such as hamour seasonal bans and protected area management.
Structured catch records
Every catch logged on uaeangler.com captures species (with scientific name), weight, GPS location, depth, bait, and season — the exact fields marine researchers need.
Species-level precision
99 species mapped to the MOCCAE 2023 official list, covering both Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman coastlines — with conservation status and habitat classification.
Population trend data
Aggregate catch data by species, emirate, season, and depth — enabling detection of population shifts, range changes, and fishing pressure over time.
The UAE has world-class marine genomics capability. What it lacks is a real-time, community-scale record of what is being caught, where, and when.
That is what UAE Anglers Hub is building, with data standards informed by marine researchers and aligned with UAE conservation policy.

Two Worlds. One Platform.
Every cast counts twice
You fish. The data lives on. Every catch logged is a permanent, georeferenced record of UAE coastal marine life. That record helps you find better fishing tomorrow and gives researchers, conservation managers, and policymakers the evidence they need to protect UAE waters for the next generation.
For Anglers
Find the best spots on both UAE coastlines, get AI bait and timing advice, log your catches, join tournaments, and connect with the UAE fishing community. Our spot pages include access type, species targets by season, best tide windows, and local regulations so you can fish responsibly and effectively from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.

For Marine Science
Each logged catch — species, weight, GPS location, depth, season — becomes a verified data point in the UAE's first community-driven coastal fish dataset, aligned with UAE marine conservation goals. We follow FAIR data principles and structure records so they can be aggregated for population trend analysis, spawning-area mapping, and marine protected area planning.

Marine Biodiversity
UAE Fish Species
99 species documented — Persian Gulf & Gulf of Oman
The UAE's waters host a surprising diversity of life: reef predators, pelagic speedsters, bottom-dwelling groupers, and seasonal migrants. Our database starts from the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) 2023 official species list and adds local Arabic names, habitat notes, conservation status, and catch seasonality. Whether you are targeting hamour in winter, kingfish during the spring run, or queenfish along the east coast, each species page explains where it lives, when it breeds, and how to identify it responsibly.

Where to Fish
Featured Spots
45 verified locations · updated regularly
UAE fishing changes with the coastline. The Persian Gulf side offers shallow flats, artificial reefs, and iconic urban jetties where barracuda, grouper, and mackerel hunt at dawn and dusk. The Gulf of Oman coast — Fujairah, Khor Fakkan, and Dibba — drops quickly into deep water, bringing yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, kingfish, and reef species within reach of shore and boat anglers. Each spot in our directory includes emirate, access type, best season, target species, and responsible-fishing reminders.
